Review on πŸ”₯ K&N Premium Oil Filter: Ultimate Engine Protection for MAZDA/FORD/LINCOLN/DODGE (HP-2009) by Josh Allred

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Currently made in Mexico and appears to be of lower quality

I have used these filters in my high end vintage products for years. I will no longer use these filters in this car. Every K&N oil filter I've bought in the past has been made in the USA. change, I noticed that he felt "different". It seemed lighter than I remembered, which made me wonder if it had less filter media or a thinner body. I wondered what had changed and compared it to an old K&N filter I had removed from the car and noticed that the design had changed a bit. Also, to my dismay, I noticed that the new filter (purchased February 2016) said "Made in Mexico" while the old filter (purchased February 2015) said "Made in USA". This makes me sad because I really loved this product. However, for twice the price of traditional oil filters, I don't want to support an inferior product that they no longer make in-house. I matched my wallet and switched to a comparable price filter from a major synthetic oil supplier. This filter is still made in the USA and appears to be of very good quality.

Pros
  • VERSATILE COMPATIBILITY: Designed to work with all synthetic, conventional and blended motor oils
Cons
  • Weight
