I have limited counter space and didn't want the bulk or expense of a heat seal vacuum sealer. This small handheld vacuum sealer (no docking station, just charging cable) was cheap enough to test. I'm pleasantly surprised! The device is small but not difficult to hold and use. It's small enough that I'll take it with me on van trips. It fits easily in a small desk drawer. It took me some practice to learn "I'm not happy" by spinning with no noise versus "I suck!" noise. For zippered bags, the device should be positioned right in the center of the airflow point. However, I have found that real food saver bags are much easier to seal and quick to vacuum. Third-party packages work but need customization. All in all, this little unit works well for basic household freezing needs. Vacuum packing is good enough. It's not very tight like some of the bigger fancy heat sealers, but for a small portable it does a good job.
