Easy install and great job! Make sure you do both sides at the same time. I used a board to support the hood and used a flat head screwdriver to remove the old clips which removed them immediately. Then put the base in, I didn't even have to pull out the clip, it just stood up. With the hood fully open (so you don't have to squeeze the cylinder) press the top one, you may have to rotate the top of the cylinder to align it, but it was easy to rotate. Both sides ran smoothly and I am very happy with it. Oh yes, there is a left and a right, they are not the same.
