You should add to your instructions to put all your fish in a separate tank. I have some very tough fish and a fully trafficked tank with live plants and a good filter and aerator. Even adding half the dose to my aquarium caused havoc. This left most of my fish either panting or lethargic. But it killed the green and hair algae in just 2 days. As for the blackbeard algae, they only killed what was on my plants, not the decor. To help my fish recover from each dose, I had to dilute hydrogen peroxide in a cup of aquarium water at a rate of 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons to give enough oxygen for 12 hours. This is chemistry. It works by providing emergency oxygen. For this reason I cannot recommend this product. The benefits do not outweigh the risks.
