I use this cord as an oil lamp wick. It's the perfect size and material and works really well, but until you've got it all set up and filled with oil, it wears out badly on the ends. The cord is made up of many tiny layers of cotton so it looks like a single layer, but it really isn't. Each layer remains intact, but the cord as a whole is not twisted very tightly, causing the layers to come loose. You should protect the ends of the cord while you work with it, or leave a long end that you can trim off when you're done. It's not that hard, but it did make it difficult to get the ends through the wire circles I made. There was always a strand or two that didn't make it through. The price is a bit high compared to other "single layer" models.
