Review on Two Wheel Gear Pannier Backpack Convertible: The Ultimate Bike Commuting and Travel Bag by Mike Walters

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Expensive but worth it

This bag was my third attempt at getting a bike pannier. I commute to work by bike 5 days a week and the previous baskets I had just weren't up to the task. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I'm pretty sure I'll be using it for a while (I'll update when it's not). First, the capacity is good. I carry around a 10-inch tablet with a stand, mouse and keyboard, as well as chargers for various devices, a few snacks, a 24-ounce insulated water bottle, pants and a shirt, and I still have some room left when I do had to add something else to the package (my nintendo switch in its bulky case sometimes comes along too and still fits all of the above). The locking mechanism is really good; The top hooks can be adjusted to fit your luggage rack and when you attach your bag the hooks can be rotated to lock onto the luggage rack. The bottom attaches with a clip to the bottom sections of the backpack straps, which I find very secure; When I plug my bike in, I hardly see any movement. The entire locking mechanism can be unlocked in seconds if you know what you're doing, although it can take another 30 seconds to put it back into "backpack mode" with the straps. I didn't stand a chance. Haven't tested the waterproof lid yet, but it's big enough to fit in the outer mesh pockets with drinks too. You will save money in the long run
