Wonderful kit. good for leather processing

EDIT: Some items in the set are of different quality. The tip of the awl bent when trying to make a pilot hole for sewing thick, tough skin. Even when the round base was used to pierce the skin with the needle, it pierced the back of the tree! Cheap pine wood is not suitable for this. Oak or hickory should be used. To fix this, I used wood glue to glue two layers of rawhide to the back, which also provides a more secure grip in my hand. To be honest I had no idea what some of the items in the set were for beforehand. Read the enclosed brochure. I started working with leather simply with a needle, upholstery thread and twine, and a homemade awl. I sew holsters, traditional Native American clothing and shoes, gun sheaths, knife pouches, pouches and more - all with minimal tooling. I wish I had bought this many years ago because it takes me to a whole new level of possibility. My favorite products at the moment are decorative embossing dies. I recognize tool steel, very good quality. That is, except for the too-soft awl, which I will temper myself by heating and tempering. To be honest, the suitcase is too small and everything is packed in there. But, you know what? I can make a leather bag for him, or there are many options at a thrift store. I'm going to use the little case that comes with the kit for drills or something. The set is satisfactory in all respects.
