Review on 🎧 MaximalPower Replacement 2-Pin Radios Surveillance Headset Earpiece - Low-Profile Communication with Reinforced Cables and Push-to-Talk Mic by Charles Barney

Requires better metal/contact plating

Requires better metal/contact plating. this is the 3rd one. The previous 2 stopped working properly because the contacts were worn out (especially on the microphone contact) so I couldn't continue using this item. In my case, we pull out the radio at the start of each shift and usually keep the same unit for the entire shift. So the device connects once and disconnects again at EOD. The first wore out more than a year, the second a little less. Nevertheless, the price/performance ratio is excellent. The company's ultra-low-cost radios fail after a quarter of their useful life, and if they don't fail, they often have mechanical problems other than wear on the contacts. If you use the same radio every day, you may never need to replace it. If you change a lot, have a spare on hand if your radio is critical.

Pros
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Large and bulky
