The first wore out more than a year, the second a little less. Nevertheless, the price/performance ratio is excellent. The company's ultra-low-cost radios fail after a quarter of their useful life, and if they don't fail, they often have mechanical problems other than wear on the contacts. If you use the same radio every day, you may never need to replace it. If you change a lot, have a spare on hand if your radio is critical.
