For a beach bum, winters are EXTREMELY cold...well, at least by California standards. On winter nights I usually sleep with at least three layers of blankets and I don't like having to wear socks at night. Running central heating day and night can be expensive, but with this Dreo heater I can easily heat my room without worrying about heating the whole house when everyone is asleep. After all, I don't want to pay to keep the kitchen warm in the middle of the night. Smart Eco Mode I was looking for a high tech heater as I often accidentally left my old one on all day and this DREO heater is perfect. I feel incredibly safe leaving this heater at home while my roommates are in another room as the economy mode adjusts the heater based on the temperature in the room to maintain a constant temperature. That way I know the heater won't make the room too hot and flammable while I'm away. I still wouldn't recommend leaving it on when you're going to be away for a long time or when there's nobody around, but if you're going for a quick coffee and want to keep your room warm then it seems acceptable. Eco mode is also just one of three modes. The Dreo space heater has HI, LOW and ECO modes that are adjusted to the flow rate of the heater. I find the low power just perfect for a place where winter nights are around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Instant heat and very quiet. I love that it heats up the room almost instantly and I don't have to wait 10 minutes to feel warm and comfortable. In fact, the entire living room warms up in just a few minutes. My roommate complained that the heater was only pointed at me as we sleep on opposite sides of the room, but now with this oscillating heater it hits all the cold spots in the room and we both sleep very comfortably. Noise is not too loud, which is important to me. I am a very light sleeper and some electric heaters can be very noisy or produce an annoying hum. I can only say that this heater is very high quality. The noise is very low and I have no problem sleeping through the night with this heater. Wide Sweep I like how wide the heater sweeps. It rotates almost 90 degrees, due to which the entire room warms up and cold drafts do not penetrate the room. Sometimes when it gets stuffy in the room I like to leave the window open for fresh air at night, but it gets pretty cold in the winter. That's why this Dreo Oscillating Electric Heater is essential for keeping the room warm while allowing fresh air to circulate inside and out. This heater is also very portable. In fact, it's half the size of my vibrating fan, and I love it because I can easily take it from my parents' house to mine during school. I can easily pack this heater in my car and transport it back and forth when needed.
