Like clamps, there's always a need for tools at the weekend and this belt sander is one of them. Although I have both a random orbit and square sander, as well as a Hitachi 3x21 sander, this sander sometimes comes in handy for sanding small parts when other sanders just don't work well. Ribbon adjustment was very easy. After turning on the machine, turn the knob on top to adjust the tension so it stays in place. I feel like people are having some difficulties here. The same applies to adjusting the tension on a hand-held belt sander. I love how easy it is to switch between the belt sander and spindle sander, as the entire belt assembly is swapped out by simply unscrewing the knob on top and attaching one of the spindle sanders (each has its own dense rubber core). Not to mention that washers, nuts and other tools fit on the device along with the plate, so you don't have to fold them or lose them somewhere. Dust extraction works well. This is a standard port size that will likely fit into the adapters on your orbital sander, router table, etc. I hooked it up to my 4 inch dust hose with two adapters and does a decent job. I don't want to use a belt sander, especially if it's not hooked up to a shop vac, at least because it makes a lot of messes otherwise. In general I am very satisfied with the product. I bought it last December and it works fine although I don't use it often. The spindle grinder is a must for grinding curves and when you want to grind multiple stacked parts for precision grinding. The price is definitely better than almost identical prices from a big store!
