Review on ๐Ÿšด Vittoria Randonneur II Trekking Tire (700cm x 25/38): Optimal Performance in Black by Mark Gancio

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very stiff on the bike

I bought these for my 2008 Cannondale Carbon Synapse 105 to replace the 23mm slicks it had. Those tires made this bike a pseudo-gravel bike. I've put about 500 miles on these tires so far, about 200 miles on pavement and 300 miles on gravel and single lane roads. (I even drove in winter and there was a thin layer of snow on the track in places). The grip on this bike is incredible at the moment. Now I can descend a steep climb in one lane to avoid a long busy road, which is great. I run 45-50psi front and 50-55psi rear and have never had a flat field. or a puncture. Even after hitting a 2-3 inch deep pothole (rear wheel only, front wheel lifted over it at the last second) at about 15 mph. For less than $25 I'll order a second pair when this set wears out. The only downside, albeit a small one, is that the small grommets on the side panels stripped the paint from the inside of my fork and chainstays. I used nail clippers to cut them off but there are about a thousand of them and it took forever. Not a deal breaker and won't rub on most bikes.

  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
