Review on ARCTIC BioniX F140 - 140mm Gaming Case Fan with PST Technology, Ultra-Quiet Motor, Computer, Fan Speed: 200–1800 RPM - Grey by Jacob Fish

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quiet, efficient, high-quality and inexpensive.

I have two of these on the front of the Phanteks Eclipse P350X case. They plug into the rear fan connector on my Sapphire Nitro+ Vega 56. The Vega 56 is a large card and the heatsink works well but definitely raises the internal temperature of my case. These fans do a good job blowing cool air under the Vega and my Scythe Mugen 2 Rev B CPU cooler and AM4 motherboard. Everything stays below 65 degrees Celsius during stress tests and below 60 degrees Celsius during normal gaming. These fans are nice and quiet, but still move a lot of air. Even at full speed, you only hear low-frequency airflow through the front of the case and no engine whine or fan blade noise. They look sharp and the cables are all nicely covered with black sleeves. Separate ports are good too; This allows me to connect both fans to one of the two headers on the graphics card. They are great fans and I've always been a fan of Artic products. They are cheaper than other big brands without sacrificing functionality or quality. EDIT: I took off a star because after messing around with the fan curves I noticed that when accelerating from very low RPM the fans just make an electric motor howl under acceleration. Depending on how you set up the fan curves, this noise will repeat itself as the fans speed up and slow down depending on the system load. That can be annoying. I chose to leave the fans at least 30% to prevent this, but they are now louder and more noticeable, although still relatively quiet. I'd still recommend these fans for almost twice the price, but it might be better to go with Noctua's cheaper Gearbox range, although I have no personal experience with them.
