Review on ONA Premier Moen Cartridge Puller Tool - Posi-Temp 1222, 1225, and 1200 Extractor by Lawrence Feldman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

USE THIS TOOL NOW!

I started with the Moen Puller (see picture) which basically just adds a screw grip to the cartridge and depends on your brute force to pull it out. Well no matter how I pulled the cartridge, it did NOT come out all the way. Only a few centimeters came out. What happened was that the rubber bands on the side of the cartridge (see picture) broke easily and wedged the cartridge completely in the valve. So I searched the internet and found this ONA puller. Dude, it's EASY to pull out the cartridge. DO NOT pull, DO NOT pull your hand, and DO NOT swear...ha ha. All you have to do is turn the knob and the screw's threads MECHANICALLY pull the cartridge out while the tool barrel rests against the rim of the valve (see image). DONE! See photos! I wish I had done this from the start! A NOTICE. If your cartridge can only partially come out and you decide to just put it back in to work on it another day, you MAY have a problem with not being able to turn off the water. entirely because the torn rubber sides of the cartridge (see picture) have formed a wedge that provides space and thus water. The only way to completely turn off the water for your shower is via the main shutoff valve at home. That's what I did until this Revain puller showed up. It was agony for everyone in the house to turn the water on and off at a specific time! So unless you want to endure the pain I experienced...or pay a plumber $300-$500 to call an 911, I would advise you to buy this tool right now. I would like!
