Review on πŸ”‘ Keyecu EWS Modified Flip Remote Key: 4 Button for BMW X5 Z3 Z4 2001-2005 HU92 Blade - Enhanced Security & Functionality by Don Olsen

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The keys are easy to hold. A little big. Broken lock with key

I bought two of these on a 2006 E53. Cut them down at $35 apiece, but they took some time to program - they sat out a few months. After getting the hardware and programming it, I started using a key as my master key. I rated the price-performance ratio as bad because the locking of the blade failed after about 2 months. Now the key blade is always extended. So I switched to another. Not very promising if they only last a few months before breaking. The price of a key and a cut adds up very quickly. I gave one star for ease of installation as the BMW dealer doesn't want to code the keys after sale (and they're 800 miles away). No local locksmith in Montana will encode the keys. So it depends on DIY. I bought an AK90+ and an adapter and did it myself, but it wasn't easy. Online video helped. The panic button does nothing. Not a deal killer, but what's the point of including it?
