Review on Mirka 9A 232 APRP 5 Inch Abranet Assortment: A Superior Sanding Solution by John Bennett

I've never thought twice about abrasive products. I have favorites and buy the ones that go with my grinder. I like to buy high quality ones, so I really thought twice about it. Although I've never thought of loops as a technology. You opened my eyes. I first read about this while trying to find different methods of drawing all things. They looked so cool I had to try them. First, I don't have a Mirka mill with a 100-hole plate, I have a regular deWalt. I read this because velcro on a grinding wheel can go through Abranet discs and wear to failure much quicker. I also bought a Mirka protective pad. So I attached the protection pad first and then the Abranet pad. I also connected the grinder to the vacuum cleaner. I've done this before and although the vacuum picks up quite a bit of dust, it still leaves a lot. Well I'm glad and quite surprised that this hasn't happened with Abranet drives. The air around the project was like I wasn't even sanding. For fun I used an 80 grit wheel on a table I got from Freecycle. Nice table but had about 4 naughty coats of paint on it. I usually used paint stripper for this, but I tried 80. It removed the color fairly easily. It took a long time, but most importantly, there was no constipation. The disc stayed at the 80 grit. When used, they feel durable and last longer than regular abrasive discs. The longevity resulted in a time saving, and I didn't have to stop, check the grit of the wheel and replace it like I would with regular grinding wheels. The only downside is the cost. They appear to be about twice the size of a normal disk. I didn't calculate time savings and durability, so this might be a boost. I definitely recommend them. I am categorizing this review on 220, 150 and 80 grit discs as these are the ones I have used before.
