Those are colors! It seems that the masters of past centuries were able to mix gray colors to trick the eye into seeing real red, ultraviolet or fuchsia. I need real color, and I haven't often been able to get my work bright enough and saturated enough. These really inexpensive pastels satisfy the craving for real color. I can't tell where they were applied, where those that cost multiples of the cost of this set were planted. While I would never trade my Sennelier for any other brand, I'm not ashamed to use Mungo or their gallery set alongside it!
