It didn't take long for them to realize it was a waste of my money. They are not designed to be useful. A strap that wraps around your hand attaches to a ring at the top (as seen in the product photos); This places your hand too high on the controller, making the buttons and stick inaccessible. So after just a few minutes of use, these straps were removed and I just used the silicone cases. After a few days of using silicone cases (mainly with the Beat Sabre) I found that they weren't as useful without the wrist strap, which I removed. They skimmed the controller a bit as I waved my arms around. The loop at the top prevents the controller from slipping out completely, so don't worry. But the feeling that it partially slipped out of my hand was wrong and I was embarrassed to continue using it. So they ended up in the trash along with the straps.
