Review on Excalibur Electronic NY53CS Sudoku Screen by Todd Phillips

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good, but you need a backlight

Puzzles of really different complexity, I think all of them can be solved without guessing. I couldn't get just a few of the 100+ I made. (There are about 900 puzzles in it.) The touchscreen works well with a stylus. The pen holder also works well; I haven't actually lost it and it's been a year. I tried not to scratch the screen. It's just plastic, but recessed. I don't know if it will survive in harsher environments. There's no backlight, so you'll need a point light source to see the screen clearly. Like sunlight or a lamp. On the other hand, I've been using the device for over a year with the same batteries. There is no clue (e.g. underscores) as to which numbers were the original clues. Therefore, it is more difficult to correct mistakes. I used another module that allows you to mark a cell as a guess. Excalibur makes a more luxurious (and expensive) version of the device, but I haven't checked if it has such features. In terms of number of puzzles, price and long battery life, this device is a good entry-level electronic device. games.
