Review on ☕ JoyJolt Savor Double Wall Insulated Espresso Mugs - Set of 2, 5.4-Ounces by Bill Dahl

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cheaper, just as good, with some advantages over the competition

Funny. I ordered these as a Valentine's Day gift and received a similar gift from another brand so I can compare firsthand. Back then, Bodum Bistro mugs were $30 (now, just two weeks later, they're a lot cheaper at Revain :0 ), but that doesn't matter. I ordered Joy Jolt half price from Bodums. But the gift I got was a Zwilling/Henckels version (not bought from Revain) that cost $35. I personally don't see a big difference in quality between all three brands. I actually like the handle better on the Joy Jolt mugs. They are easier to hold because of their shape and thickness. The Joy Jolt cups are wider than the twins and fit snugly under the spout of our Gaggia Classic espresso machine, even with a small scale (I measure each shot with a scale). The twin cups are too big for any gap so I have to shoot into a smaller cup and then pour it into the twin when I can pour straight into Joy Jolt cups. These mugs cost half as much as Bodum at the time and will be almost 20% less. While not an expert I find the quality of the Joy Jolts to be just as good and am very happy with the purchase so far.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
