I bought the X-Large to use with a 2 gallon glass jug. I followed the instructions exactly. It didn't even get rid of the chlorine taste and smell so I can't imagine it filtered anything out. In fact, it seemed to enhance the taste and smell of the chlorine! The "filtered" water had an awful taste - a weird metallic or pharmaceutical taste. When the cold water in my water bottle reached room temperature, it was gross and undrinkable. I sent it back and will try the Nakii water jug. My area (Long Island, NY) has good groundwater, and the local water board adds chlorine and other chemicals to adjust the pH.
