It worked perfectly the first time it was used

It worked perfectly the first time it was used, after the second use it broke and started chipping. Sometimes I catch myself drinking water and then the charcoal gets in my teeth and hurts a lot. I told my mom and she said to put up with it and that everything in life (including me) was a disappointment. I love this product. I'm giving four stars because it's broken. like my life

Pros
  • A dream comes true
Cons
  • Everything is fine

I received the charcoal today and it is much smaller.

I received the charcoal today and it's a lot smaller than advertised! I'm disappointed. I understand sticks vary in size, but I have 2 inch charcoal and bought the regular size. Even the product description says the normal size should be around 5 inches, far from it. The smallest kishu you can go is about 4 inches and I have half that. Not worth the money.

Water taste Great for pitchers Water filter

Have been using these for a few years now. I like that they are non-toxic, non-plastic, "recharged" simply by cooking once a month, and biodegrade after cooking. I use them in a glass jar. We keep several of these jars in the fridge and just rotate them. Thus, there is a filtering and a ready-to-use one. These definitely work! I can't stand our tap water without them. They will keep for about 6 months with a monthly reboil. You can see when they need to be charged because they don't produce asโ€ฆ

  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Chlorine NOT removed

I hate writing reviews. You know; Everyone has an opinion, and basically our opinion doesn't matter. But after reading all the rave reviews I bought it for our chlorinated water. terrible, nauseating water. I left it for almost 24 hours and I still smell chlorine. Our Pur water jug was MUCH better. now I have to buy another glass of pure which I now regret not having made from the start. If you want to remove chlorine from the water, a Krug Pur or even a pinch of Assorbic Acid is better. For me

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Updates

I really wish this was an alternative to replacing plastic filters and buying expensive products. Lasted two days, worked great, water tasted amazing but broke in half when I went to fill the jug. Now the water doesn't seem as fizzy as it did the first time, and the water doesn't taste much different than tap water. I am not sure if I will buy again. Edit: Contacted the company and let them know what happened. They said it should still work as usual but offered to replace it. Liked the customer

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Almost never

Terrible tasting water - doesn't work at all

I bought the X-Large to use with a 2 gallon glass jug. I followed the instructions exactly. It didn't even get rid of the chlorine taste and smell so I can't imagine it filtered anything out. In fact, it seemed to enhance the taste and smell of the chlorine! The "filtered" water had an awful taste - a weird metallic or pharmaceutical taste. When the cold water in my water bottle reached room temperature, it was gross and undrinkable. I sent it back and will try the Nakii water jug. My areaโ€ฆ

Does what he does like they say he should do.

At first I had buyer scruples: Nobody should spend money on a burnt piece of wood. I said so to myself. And then I unpacked the coal. I put it in my glass. I filled the pitcher with tap water. I left it twelve hours or so. Then I poured water into my glass. I took a sip. After the third glass of water, I decided that this little thing will be a part of my life as long as I can help it. In short, here's the thing: water tastes great. You may need to get used to the ringing and clinking of aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High-quality workmanship
Cons
  • String shorter than other picks

Got rid of polyurethane good for kitchen and dining room

After reading the reviews somewhere we never went back to anything else. We do not use drinking water in plastic bottles. Do you know how long this bottle has been sitting on a pallet baking in the sun? I also! I don't want to drink plastic. We use tap water, fill a glass water dispenser, 5-6 gallons. Follow the instructions for Kishu and put it in a container. Record the date placed in the container. Depending on how much water you drink. We cook the kisha every 2 weeks. Then follow theโ€ฆ
