This kayak paddle features a sturdy aluminum handle that snaps together tighter than most. It floats well until you have a chance to retrieve it. I had a chance to use this paddle in a river, marsh, beach, mouth of the bay, and creek. It held up very nicely. The paddle ends are very firm, I purposely beached myself on sand and stone, and was able to use this paddle to push me back into the current . It displaces water well, and keeps you tracking fairly straight. Each handle has a soft wrap to prevent blisters, and provide more grip. Paddle ends include water dripping prevention. Similar to Field & Stream plastic/aluminium paddle from sporting good's stores, but blade is much better. It is a budget paddle, not meant for multiple day trips, races, and professional use. That being said, it holds up well, and feels great after all day use. The design and logo is sleek and simple. I will purchase additional products and paddles from Oceanbroad.
