I have owned this drive for 3 years now and it has proven to be reliable. Some may say they are a thing of the past and while that may be true as long as CDs are made I will continue to use them. Because of this, I have a hard time trusting online stores that sell "lossless" versions as I prefer to copy them myself. I set it up and use it mainly with Exact Audio Copy 1.3 to rip lossless copies of my CDs to FLAC format. . This one (DRW-24B1ST i) has a read offset of +6 as reported by AccurateRip.com for accurate CD ripping. As for burning/DVD burning, I've never used this feature, so I can't confirm its effectiveness on this drive. As far as CD ripping goes, this was nothing short of a great drive and I highly recommend it if you are a beginner or an experienced user of the art of CD ripping.
