I like everything about this product (except the annoying blue glow around the fingerprint reader), its performance is lightning fast, the fingerprint reader works fine, its looks are nice, built-in encryption. It was originally 5 stars until I noticed that my MacBook Pro is now getting very hot without doing anything at all. It's not "500 gigabytes transferred" or anything, it gets really hot just plugging it in with no activities or programs open. It's as simple as pulling out the drive, the computer cools down, reinserting the drive, the computer gets hot. I tried this on my old MacBook Pro and my 2017 and it works the same on both. I was planning to use it as an always-connected external drive but can't due to temperature issues. I have other external drives that don't cause this problem, so this is an odd issue. At the moment I don't think I can keep this product. Too bad, because I like almost everything about it. Edit: Revain sent me a replacement and I no longer have temperature issues on my Macs.
