I bought this mesh system because I thought it would work with all my smart home devices. It has 2.4 and 5GHz networks which is what I needed. But what they don't tell you is that the M3 doesn't let you turn off 5GHz or 2.4GHz if you have to. I have 3 devices, cameras that require 2.4GHz and four hardwired smart switches. Since Deco doesn't seem to differentiate between 5 and 2.4, my phone automatically connects to 5. Well, when I set up the cameras and switches with the apps on my phone, they don't work. They either tell me directly that I need a 2.4GHz network or they just hang. Anyway, M5 and above allow you to disable 5 or 2.4 if needed. But M3 is NOT. Nothing in the awful guide (about 50 languages with 3pt text), nothing on the site unless you dig into the community forums. Apparently a firmware update has been released that will solve this problem. Why they didn't record it from the beginning is beyond me. So while I wait Cameras and office lights won't work, but I think that's okay. I can still connect the old router.
