I live offline and have been for a while. I started using OutBack products about 20 years ago when they released their first FX inverters. I may be going online this year and couldn't do so with my existing FX inverters so I switched to these VFXR3648A which can be used for both off-grid and grid-tied applications. I bought two of these to run both my home and carpentry shop. I could actually run them with one, but due to the surge power required to run some of my tools I had to have both. Another advantage of two inverters is that charging power is doubled when you need it, and the second unit sits idle until your first inverter uses about two-thirds of its power when it fires to discharge. Unit, saving utensils and level on each unit. My solar system is completely OutBack except for the solar panels, wind turbines and LP standby generator.
