Our old sewer cap was fine until our black sewer shut-off valve stopped closing completely. I'm still working on making it close better. There is probably something stuck to it that is leaking liquids. The old lid's seal wasn't as thick and comfortable anymore, and was held in place with just two pins instead of four as here. It had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. It has a nice big rubber gasket and four pins to keep fluid from going through my check valve. Our backyard neighbors at my husband's alma mater are thankful that water is no longer dripping outside their back entrance, and we are no longer ashamed. seals well, not a drop escapes. Now if I could just figure out how to fix the valve and close it completely, resetting it would be a much more pleasant experience.
