The product is advertised for garage ceiling lights, and works great in that role -- easy to install is you have ordinary fixtures, more reliable than fluorescents, low energy use, and lots of light. However, they can -- with a little work -- also be used for other poorly lit areas. My wife and I have a walk-in closet. The 60w light installed there was completely inadequate for determining the color of clothing (Are these pants black or dark blue?). My wife complained for years. I decided to install one of these lights to improve the situation. Because the existing light fixture had the bulb situated horizontally rather than vertically, I had to put in a different lamp base. But the result has been A1. The closet is no longer dim. We can distinguish between colors. My wife no longer complains. Life is good.
