Received this iron as a promotional offer and whilst not looking for new irons thought we could use a new one as what we have is probably 10 years old and a bit old is unpredictable. There are many aspects of this iron that I like. For example, the screen is a nice feature and I appreciate the variety of options. While it's a pretty slick iron with a glowing screen, it's not overly complicated or overly high-tech. I also love that I can use the steam button for continuous steam when I don't have an ironing board and just want to iron out a few creases (see video). The self-clean button is another nice feature that I've never seen before. I could actually use this as we lived in a house with well water as hard water can seriously damage your appliances. The pause and automatic shutdown functions are also required. I appreciate the warning sound, if you're one of those people who don't trust the auto shutoff and prefer to always unplug their devices, it's a good reminder. It's also useful if you actually plan on going back there and don't want to turn it off just yet. Believe it or not, I even appreciate the user manual because it's simple, well-organized, and easy to read (font style, size, well-illustrated diagram). Also, it's written in English and not 10 other languages with a tiny font and 25 pages. I haven't actually used this iron enough to notice any design flaws or other negative aspects. If anything comes up I will update my review to reflect it. Overall this is a very good iron that I am sure will last a long time.
