I haven't used this lens yet because it's winter and I can't easily travel to other places. I'm not a lens expert, but this is the best lens I have, other than my trusty 20mm prime lens. It produces good shots and I believe the included lens hood helps. It is easy to use as it folds over and hooks onto the lens when the lens is in your pocket. So it's right here. I've found that the built-in optional stabilizer helps when shooting in low light. I can keep the ISO within reasonable limits and still take photos without camera shake. The larger aperture (2.8) also helps, and I like that it stays stable regardless of the magnification (12-35). Some reviews seem to confuse this lens with the 35=100 lens, its sister so to speak. I also have this lens and will probably use it a lot this spring. I intend to get both so that I can cover all the usual situations when photographing architecture or nature with the two lenses. I'm not normally a street photographer and wouldn't use the 12-35 lens reviewed here in this way as it's physically large and will draw attention. Although it's good for architecture as it has a large aperture (like the 35-100). In general, the 12-35 lens is an expensive purchase from my point of view, but it is worth it.
