Review on ๐Ÿ• Highly Durable and Water Resistant Logical Leather Dog Leash: Ideal for Training - Crafted from Heavy Full Grain Leather by Vanessa Lee

The nicest leather leash I've used in years! Love it!

As a dog behaviorist, I see a variety of leashes in a variety of materials, lengths, and designs. I have bought other leather leashes and they are still hanging on hooks on the door with little use. This leash is different from other leather leashes I have purchased. This leash is 5/8" wide. It's wide enough to be very strong, yet narrow enough to be flexible and comfortable in your hand. Unlike other leashes, this leash already gets soft and breaks, and I have not used any oils or preservatives to encourage this process. The clasp is stainless steel and feels durable. The line is used on my own 18 lb Sheepoo so it's not good at controlling the strength of the line ties Test it! Again this is machine sewn unlike other linens. Not sure if it is waxed thread but as my friend said a shoemaker can easily overstitch it if needed. I prefer braided lines to get around the button and to hold the grip but since that width is narrower it would be impossible to preserve the integrity of the leather by dividing it into weaves. I take a comfortable width across the weave every day! There are no rivets that come off can be screwed - that's very good. Another thing is that I lead my dog with a simple flick of the leash to indicate the direction I want to go. This leather leash is flexible enough to get the message across just as well as nylon or rope leashes, just in a much nicer way! I have used my own leather for fittings for saddles, bags and leather goods. It is a very fine grain leather, very soft and gets softer every day. The black paintwork is meticulously done and shines - very professionally and with great craftsmanship. I love leather leashes on well trained dogs. They won't rough up hands like nylon leashes. The only downside to leather leashes is that some dogs find them irresistibly delicious! They taste like good shoes! But once your dog is past the chewing stage, buy yourself and your best friend this leather leash. You'll understand why skin is beautiful once you try it!
