Before first use I ran water in the sink and ran it over the top to wash away any factory spills and chemicals. I thought it was ok as all seams should be waterproof. but. Somehow water got into the handle, probably around the lid release button because as soon as I dried the bottom and outside and placed it on the base, water started dripping constantly from the handle. after 15 minutes i left it overnight with the lid underneath (dry at first) and was surprised in the morning that the lid was full of water. While this may not result in a long-term problem if I fill it accurately and don't allow water to spill onto the top of the handle, it strikes me as a defect and a set-up for a future problem like internal deformation of the handle or seams unraveling . So I send it back and get a Fellow Corso. I don't need a pen that isn't waterproof. The video was taken after the pitcher was left overnight - it was dripping in the morning. Tip: Be careful when filling and wiping - do not get water on the pen button to avoid spilling inside the pen.
