Came with a lot of the bark torn off (still in the package so I just glued it back on). The predrilled holes were often too small for the string unless you separate the string into two pieces, however, that makes the string weaker. After painting, a few started cracking along the natural lines of grain. Frustrating, nothing the company could do, but I had to repaint an entire new piece. Overall, it's a great price for what you get. After sanding the flat surface down, it's smooth enough to paint on and you can get a really great painting. I'm also planning on filling the holes and gluing on magnets to the back instead for something to smile at a year round.
