This desk fan was what I needed for work, especially when its in a room full of computers and monitors. There are 4 modes. lowest to highest, except that mode 3 seemed to be the highest and 4 would cycle the speed from 1-3. It would start off slow and then turbo spin to give you a bit more wind and would continue that way. It was great because I sometimes didn't have to rely on the usb plug since it came with an internal battery. I've used it on low settings and got roughly 4 hours of use. 5 months later, it doesn't charge, it could be that the usb part is broken but I unscrewed it and tried to wiggle it around to see if it was loose. It wasn't so I am out of luck. The fan would turn on for half a second due to residual charge on the battery but its dead now. :(
