I've had this bag set for almost a year now and I'm still on the first two that came out of the set. Each has been used at least 10 times and shows no signs of wear or deterioration. The kit includes tubes that resemble short straws to make it easier to remove air from the bag when it is placed in water. I found that they are not needed. Just a small air vent with a lid is all you need to deflate the bag when submerged in water. Overall, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made for my kitchen and I highly recommend it if you're shopping for a sous vide immersion heater or are looking for something better than pre-made plastic bags. . They're also a lot cheaper and work just as well as vacuum sealers. A tip: fold down the plastic sealing strips to protect them when you fill the bag with the food to be cooked. This keeps these seals clean and makes it easier to fully close them at the start of the cooking process.
