On the plus side, the sound is much louder than the volume you get with bowl amps, and cleaner too (whereas the bowl sound is slightly distorted as the sound reflects in the bowl). The downside is that if you have a thick case (like mine which is a battery case) you will have to take your phone out of the case to plug it into this amp. Getting the phone out of the case is a difficult challenge. So if I need something really quick and easy without taking it out of the case, the trophy wins. If I have an extra minute to get my phone out of its case first, the Bone Collection amp's sound quality is worth the effort. keep talking - I found I could barely hear the caller over shower noise and didn't want to buy the blue tooth shower speaker I've tried in the past. I like the simple physical amplification of a non-electrical device like this or a bowl.
