Review on Powerful Cleaning with Shark HZ602 Corded Ultralight Vacuum by Hunter Schneider

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Almost great. suitable for vacuum cleaners and electric brooms

I am a demanding vacuum cleaner user. For most Revain items, my satisfaction with this vacuum would have given me five stars. But I expect a lot from vacuum cleaners and while this one is good, it's far from great. It's a handy, somewhat powerful vacuum with a few extra useful tools alongside the rotating floor nozzle. The suction power of this machine is better than my cordless vacuum cleaners of the same size. Only my Dyson V10 has the same suction power - and then only at the highest of the three levels, the level at which the battery is empty in less than ten minutes. So for a simple power this is a pretty decent vacuum. However, its performance is limited by the design of the handle, and it doesn't have the suction power of a canister at the same price or a regular (non-stick design) stand. It also doesn't have multiple power levels. There is a suction level and that's it. The racquet is strong and powerful, it has a slow speed for bare floors and a high speed for carpets. The beater does a good job on carpet, but on bare floors I would prefer a simple, wide brush with no beater motor. It comes with a non-powered auxiliary brush that's four inches wide, but I've found it mostly useless for cleaning floors and under furniture, as it doesn't have effective bristles and only scratches a very narrow floor path -- and if you don't hold it right under right angle, he hardly cleans at all. The biggest complaint I have with this vacuum is that the impact head is narrow, forcing more strips to clean the floor, and it doesn't easily fit under furniture. What good is a stick vacuum cleaner if it can't get into hard-to-reach places and doesn't fit under furniture? Here are some additional observations: 1) The vacuum cleaner is not standing upright on its bat, but is tipping over. It's hard back. You have to lean it against the closet wall. 2) The vacuum cleaner cleans dirt from carpets well, but the dirt container is small. I had to empty it twice and sweep about 1000 square feet of fairly clean hardwood and some carpets. 3) The cable is short. I would have preferred eight feet more cable. To be honest, for the price I think it's better to go for the Shark cordless vacuum cleaner. I bought Costco Shark cordless vacuums for $250, which were almost as good as this vacuum and much more portable.
