Auarita 898-2 best body repair tool

This is a rebrand of Auarita 898-2 spray gun, Auarita emailed me and confirmed it. The gun was very oily inside and out. There was some thread sealant in the fluid chamber. I had to rip it off. The descent is gentle. There are no numbers or notches on the liquid handle so I used a drill press to make a small indentation or mark on it. The screw on the fan controller came loose and had to be tightened. The air intake cannot be rotated. Operating pressure is 21psi but the holes on the air horns are large and also around the tip, I don't think it's a real level. I don't think 21psi is the optimal working pressure. There are other LVLP spray guns that use less CFM than this one. Haven't painted anything yet but will update when I do. Edit: I tested the spray mold, it was 11 inches, large fan but narrow. Set at 20-21 psi it had trouble spraying on wide open liquids. , Can be corrected by turning the fluid knob or increasing the pressure, but this indicates an operating pressure of 21psi. I used the same test paint on this gun. The cup is fine but there is an area around the metal nut and the plastic cup indicates that the paint may remain and will not wash off easily with a thinner brush. I was not impressed with the performance of this pistol. I will edit again when I do another project. Edit II: I noticed that the tip is larger than my other 1.3 gun, so I measured the nozzle orifice in my 1.3 gun, it turned out to be 1.4mm, and there is also no mark on the nozzle to indicate it is 1.3. Of course not, and this 1.3 is actually a 1.4, I'll just crank up the pressure and call this my caulking gun. Update: I mixed up enough sealant that I think I'll need and ended up with a lot of extra paint. I increased the pressure to 28psi and applied 2.5 turns of fluid and it worked better but not great. I still believe these are HVLP weapons and not LVLP. Working pressure must be above 29 psi. Another thing I noticed is that it leaves a textured finish, a light orange peel. The return is closed, I will try to sell it. The packaging says 2 bar on the front, the instructions say 21psi. I think 2 bar (about 28 psi) is the correct working pressure.

Pros
  • Painting tools and equipment
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
