I live in an apartment building and we had a couple of bikes stolen from the bike cage in the garage. So I know it's only a matter of time before thieves see my new Trek. I've done my research and this Abus lock has received some of the best reviews from lock builders and testers. The lock itself is harder to pick than most. It is of course big, bold and heavy. I won't be using it while driving due to the weight, but it's great for storing bikes, which is my biggest risk of theft. I use this Abus to lock my frame and then install cheaper U-locks on the rear and front wheels. So I have a three-U lock on my bike while it's in a cage! While no lock is foolproof, I felt my bike was harder to steal than others in a cage, so thieves will move on to easier targets when they see my bike seriously locked.
