Review on ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Explorer by Victorinox Swiss Army by Agustin Bush

The best combination of tools in a Swiss Army Knife. And yes, I've been an Eagle Scout since 1972.

I have owned and carried a Swiss Army Knife for over 45 years. And yes, I'm an Eagle Scout. Of all the models, the Explorer has the best combination of tools, believe me I've used several models over the years. Big knives with lots of tools are good, but carrying them around is getting harder and harder. Small knives lack basic tools. All of the tools in Explorer are useful except one: the hook. The hook on the bottom of the knife is intended to make carrying the package easier due to the rope the package is wrapped in. Hook. The nail file is the kind of tool I wish that wasn't in Explorer (hint, hint). By the way, a magnifying glass is more useful than you might think. It has good magnification for everyday use and can be used to start a fire in an emergency. And the built-in Phillips screwdriver is MUCH superior to the 90 degree screwdriver used in most models. But other than that it's a great knife. Do yourself a favor when you order this knife, order 2 or maybe 4 little things at the same time. First, the Swiss Army makes a small jeweler's screwdriver that fits into a corkscrew. If you wear glasses or know someone who wears glasses, buy a screwdriver - one day you will be a hero. Second, you're most likely going to lose a toothpick or tweezers at some point, and ordering a set of 5 I think (they've been using the same design for 50 years, so they'll almost always be good) will eliminate that hassle in the future. The same applies to the spring inside the scissors. After about 10 years the nib will either fire and be lost or break, and again having a spare on hand makes life less stressful. I believe the feathers come in pairs or maybe 3 per pack. Pretty easy to replace. In any case, as I said, the best tool combination in a Swiss Army Knife. My constant companion.
