My house was built in 1795. Over the years the plastered walls have been poorly repaired and become excessively uneven and lumpy. We did our best to smooth everything we could, but it was still pretty bad, so my original plan of wallpapering the fireplace wall was out of the question. I decided using a stencil was best and I really liked the design and the price was more than reasonable. This was my first stencil and I am very impressed with how it turned out! Despite the undulating walls, it was easy to line up and the clods and wood stove were gone! The stencil is well made with clean cutouts and thick enough not to tear - I can use it endlessly on other projects. It was a hassle to clean, but it has nothing to do with the stencil itself.
