I wanted to add a shelf to a metal cabinet without installing an anchor plate behind the metal. When they became available I decided to order them and try them out. Here's what I found 1. These are fairly standard rivets and they will work with a standard pistol with the correct neck size. I used these and spare washers to attach 5 shelf brackets to an 8 foot long metal tool cabinet. I then placed an 8" deep wooden shelf on these brackets. The shelf is very strong, the rivets hold up with no sign of stress, and now I have a place to charge the batteries for all my power tools! I'm very happy with that product and the quality seems very good, I would recommend them if the size is suitable for your work.
