I bought this about three weeks ago. I also bought an air quality sensor to monitor indoor air quality. SimPure is a beautiful device and works very well. I love that it has four (4) filters in one. It's very easy to change when the time comes. Fit and finish are excellent. The fan is quiet. I use this unit for my large room around 800SF. When the fan is on low, I don't hear it running. On average, I really have to listen to hear it. I can hear it running at high revs, but that's not a problem. I don't have to turn up the volume on my TV when it's on high. I also bought an air quality monitor. 0 to 50 ppm is really good air quality. This air purifier keeps my ppm at 3. It is right up to the specifications of the device. Last week I fried scallops for dinner and intentionally did NOT turn on the hood. After dinner I turned on the air quality sensor and the ppm was above 1300. I turned SimPure to max and about 35 minutes later the ppm dropped back to 3. Two days ago I roasted some more scallops and turned on the stove. top fan. After dinner the ppm was over 300. I turned on Simpure and after about 30 minutes the ppm dropped to 3. During the day, when we live in our large room, we usually leave SimPure on a low or medium setting. This device is also quite cheap to operate. At a high level, it consumes 46 watts, at an average level - 36 watts, at a low level - 28 watts. For most US citizens, a 12-hour run at an average pace costs about 5 cents a day. I have a vacuum with a HEPA filter and a very soft brush head. I suspect if I lightly vacuum both sides of the SimPure filter once a month I can add a year to its lifespan. I live in the Northwest USA and really wish I had this device this summer when we had so much wildfire smoke. The last thing I want to mention. Before buying this device, I wrote the seller a letter with a question, and he quickly responded. I really appreciated his quick service. SimPure HP8 definitely looks like a good choice to me!
