Installed well and works well

I replaced my 12 year old 1/2 hp garage door opener with this 3/4 hp. I now have wifi and it's VERY quiet. I liked the instructions and the fold out installation guide which was easy to follow. I really liked the colored hardware bags. This made the installation very easy. Since I was replacing previous hardware, I had to reuse some parts for the "J" bracket that connects to the garage door. The brackets that attach to the wall and garage door itself weren't exactly aligned and I didn't want to drill new holes, so I reused the hammer and cotter pin already attached to the door and wall (new cotter pins). . They were still in good condition. The "J" bracket wasn't long enough to connect the door to the rod that guides the strap, so I had to use one of the original straight pieces and screw it on to attach the "J" bracket to the Making Genies longer (used both straight pieces before the curved one). I installed it 100% myself with no help and I appreciate that the powerhead is lighter. I'm a bit disappointed that the bolt that the belt rides on is aluminum while the original one was heavy steel. The slide that the J-Bracket connects to appears to be plastic, especially where the door's J-Bracket connects to the pin. I hope it's plastic coated metal. Other things I liked are the open way, the instructions discussing how to connect and how to support it once it's installed (e.g. with an open door). In general I am satisfied. The belt comes with a 15-year warranty, while the motor and transmission are guaranteed for life. The rest of the power head has 1 year but I can buy an extended warranty from a third party on Revain.
