Before choosing an antenna, first go to the antenna website

Before you to judge an antenna by the number of channels it can receive, you must first go to a website called Antenna Web. Enter your address here and Antenna Web will tell you exactly how many channels you can receive in your area. As for me, I was told that I have 17 stations on the air with a possibility of 46 of their channels that I could pick up with a powerful antenna. They also list the distance in miles so you know which antenna to buy that can receive the channels in miles that they cover. I have a TV in my spare room where I use an antenna instead of cable and the antenna I use is a 35 mile RCA antenna. This RCA records 20 channels and the images are clear. I connected this HD6 HDTV Monoprice active indoor/outdoor antenna with a 50 mile range to my TV and had it automatically scan wirelessly. When it was finished I had 27 clean channels and one audio channel. This antenna picked up 7 more channels but also found them 15 miles further than my 35 mile RCA. TBN. If you're thinking of cutting your cable or just want one of your TVs to have an antenna, always check the antenna web first to see exactly which channels you'll have to live with first. With this Monoprice antenna, reception is basic - a clear picture, but reception is no better than any other antenna I've had. It's a good medium antenna, but I don't really like its chunky plastic design. I prefer an apartment with window design.
