Before choosing an antenna, first go to the antenna website

Before you to judge an antenna by the number of channels it can receive, you must first go to a website called Antenna Web. Enter your address here and Antenna Web will tell you exactly how many channels you can receive in your area. As for me, I was told that I have 17 stations on the air with a possibility of 46 of their channels that I could pick up with a powerful antenna. They also list the distance in miles so you know which antenna to buy that can receive the channels in miles that they…

Excellent reception but parts may be missing

I have a room in the house that is not wired. The TV in this room is rarely watched, so an extra cable box isn't worth the monthly cost. I've tried active HD antennas on TVs in the past with no success. If I hadn't been offered to try Vine, I most likely wouldn't have tried anything else. I plugged it in with little expectation and was surprised to see some crystal clear HD channels that rival the clarity of our cable boxes. After scanning the air channels, the antenna found 30 channels…

Best wishes for finding this out; Make sure it is raised HIGH

I've tried several different antennas over the years and none have been very good. I'm happy to report that this has greatly improved the reception of my plasma TV, but I think it has more to do with the height of the antenna than the antenna itself. Firstly, there are no instructions on how to do this . assemble or mount this device. The power supply is external, so it's too big for a separate plug and a pain in the neck (a better design decision would be an internal power supply to weigh down

Pros
  • Enjoy multi-directional reception up to 50 miles from the tower
Cons
  • Shorter cable than other options

Monoprice's 50 mile active HDTV antenna is unimpressive indoors. I haven't tried installing it outdoors. The plastic of the antenna housing and antenna mast mount seems too flimsy/cheap to withstand a good storm or two. The cable/amplifier is so thin that I am amazed at its quality for this use. To see how the Monoprice antenna performs, I compared it to the Revainbasics reinforced blade antenna. I made sure to place them in the same spot when testing. The Monoprice antenna is designed to be…
