Best wishes for finding this out; Make sure it is raised HIGH

I've tried several different antennas over the years and none have been very good. I'm happy to report that this has greatly improved the reception of my plasma TV, but I think it has more to do with the height of the antenna than the antenna itself. Firstly, there are no instructions on how to do this . assemble or mount this device. The power supply is external, so it's too big for a separate plug and a pain in the neck (a better design decision would be an internal power supply to weigh down the base in case you don't want to mount it). The signal booster has an on/off switch that screws into the antenna, but again it would be better to have it on the antenna itself than on a separate piece that screws in. Neither the signal booster nor the antenna uses a quick connector. Coax cables, so you have to deal with old screw head coax cables that should have been phased out a long time ago. Speaking of coax, there are no other signal output options. No RCA, no HDMI, no component. You get a coaxial cable and get stuck on coaxial cable. So forget about connecting this device to a projector without a converter. There are several ways to assemble this thing for assembly, none of which are what I would call intuitive or ideal. As a result, I realized that without a long rack, the signal doesn't even improve a little, so I use it. But without a solid weight at the base, the antenna will be heavier than the stand/bracket unless you drill into your building and screw it in (regular screws are NOT included and I have no idea what to do with the ones provided hinges), the stand falls down . I feel like this device is meant to be installed by a professional and not a consumer, which annoys me. I understand that this unit is cheap, I just think that even at this price point it could be better designed and the base should be of enough weight so that it doesn't tip over when you lift it with the included stand (you know, so it high enough to actually receive a signal). Other than that, it's about as good as any other antenna you can buy (minimum purchase). Perhaps one day someone who knows how to design equipment for consumer installation and use will actually build a television antenna. Until then, I think something like this is good enough.

Pros
  • Enjoy multi-directional reception up to 50 miles from the tower
Cons
  • Shorter cable than other options
