Review on πŸ“ Raspberry Pi 4 3 B+ Pi Zero RPI HiFi AMP HAT TAS5713 Amplifier Audio Module 25W Class-D Power Sound Card Expansion Board with Nichicon Capacitor for Enhanced Performance by Lance Levatte

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Convenient low-power alternative to HiFiberry AMP2

Can't speak about durability yet but performance wise it's pretty good. I bought it to drive a low power in wall speaker. I also have a hifiberry AMP2 that I use to power some bookshelf speakers. As a test I connected one speaker to AMP2 and the other to this board and didn't see much of a difference. I haven't done an exhaustive sound quality comparison as they are not compatible with audiophile speakers. But for typical consumer-grade bookshelf speakers and low-to-mid volume levels, this board performs quite well. I hooked this up to a Raspberry Pi Zero W using piCorePlayer and it worked in about 5 minutes.

Pros
  • HiFi AMP Hat compatible with Raspberry Pi 4, Zero, Zero W, 3B, 3B+ via 40-pin header. Connects directly to the Raspberry Pi board, no additional cables and soldering required. With this RPI + AMP HIFI suit, it is easy to achieve more beautiful and fantastic sound.
