Received this in red. On the face it is a smooth, non-shiny dark red tissue. The color is more of a burgundy with black added (the pattern is the same as the mottled gray t-shirts, only the pattern is maroon instead of gray with solid black). So for now I'm happy with that because during the day my bag should be versatile in case I need to wear it as a backpack to free up my arms and hands and then the rest of the time. it has to work in my wallet. I've bought several 3-in-1 backpacks and totes trying to find something that works, but they always prove to be either impractical or just plain uncomfortable to wear or carry and whenever I need to quickly open them to to get to my phone or wallet. It's almost impossible to throw away everything else, which is why I love that this bag comes with two different sets of straps. One can be detached to wear as a backpack and the other can be worn on the arm as a regular handbag. I definitely like it more than trying to switch straps between functions in a hurry, now I can just pick up and go if I need to and it has everything you would normally expect from a handbag including a separate zipped compartment on the side for storage or separate things inside. It also has another small zippered slit. These additional places are simply necessary for me. Finally, inside the main zipped compartment on the back of the bag there are 1 small zipped compartment and 2 open compartments to store your phone and a compact cosmetic pouch. All zippers move smoothly and the lining of the red purse is dark brown with "Lovevook" written on the lining. The hardware is silver (colored, what it's made of I'm not sure and I'm not sure if it will break off and show a different color). I expected it to be bigger than it really is, but I was pleasantly surprised. Compared to other wallets, it is either too big or too small. This is definitely the size I wanted and needed, and for $9 I couldn't do without it!
