Review on πŸ”§ Progressive Suspension 412-4077B Rear Shock: Black Anodized Finish, 13-inch Heavy Duty, Low Buck Factory Replacement by James Jack

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy installation; Exceptional value

Revain had them for $270 versus $299 at all parts stores. I couldn't turn down a deal like that. At first I went for 412 instead of more expensive dampers. I have no problem snapping off the key and making adjustments if needed. You can get other tech in pricier progressive shocks, but for the average rider you probably won't feel as much of a difference as if you went from stock to these. (The difference between stock and 412 is greater than between 412 and 444). Shock absorbers are incredibly easy to install if you have a motorcycle jack. I unscrewed the muffler mounting bolts (10mm) and removed the air ducts. A 3/4" head removes old shocks. The instructions are easy to follow, but they are actually in the parts box, not on the pages that might look like instructions! Bolt shocks until all four bolts are in place and tighten Then tighten them in place. Don't forget to put silencers on. 2nd position. One of my kids measured while I was on the bike. I was right it was 3rd position. It took me seriously 3-4 minutes to figure out to install the sag. All in all the installation took me about 30 minutes. , jacking up the bike, removing the old shocks, installing the progressives, adjusting the sag, lowering the jack and reinstalling the bags. Tools required: - One Motorcycle lift or a jack - Rear wheel jack (I used a jack) -3 4" sockets, 10mm sockets, torque wrench, blue Loctite
